Professor Elizabeth U. Anyakoha

Professor Elizabeth Ugonwa Anyakoha is a Professor of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN). She is the first Professor of Home Economics Education in Nigeria. Her areas of expertise include Family Living, Consumer Education and Issues, and Resources Management. Professor Anyakoha has rendered valuable services to the UNN. She has also rendered different forms of services to Nigerian Government and supra-national agencies including National Universities Commission (NUC), Nigeria Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC), National Council for Colleges of Education (NCCE), UNICEF, United Nations Development Project (UNDP), World Bank, and Teacher Registration Council (TRC).

Professor Anyakoha has successfully executed 10 locally and internationally funded research projects. She has developed curricular and instructional materials for Home Economics at various levels of education and her books are widely used in Nigerian Schools and in some English speaking West African Countries. She is a member of the International Fedration of Home Economics (IFHE) and the founder of Journal of Home Economics Research (JHER) and Home Economics Reaerch Association of Nigeria (HERAN).

Professor Anyakoha holds a B.Sc in Home Economics Education as well as M.Ed and Ph.D in Curriculum Studies in Home Economics from the University of Nigeria.
